Systems Engineer with a background spanning HPC hardware validation, IT infrastructure, automation, and system reliability. Experienced provisioning and operating Linux and Windows servers, virtualized clusters, and enterprise networks, with hands-on infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, Ansible) and observability (Prometheus, Grafana). I'm at my best owning a system end to end, from bare-metal and network design through diagnostics and the automation that keeps it reliable. Focused on reproducible, well-documented solutions that bridge software, hardware, and network operations.

Experience

Senior Test Engineer

May 2026 - Current

ExxactCorp

  • Most senior engineer on the test team, brought in above-level to lead and improve process. Set test strategy, drive improvements the Lead Systems Engineer reviews and signs off on, and bring up junior engineers on diagnostics and procedure.
  • Leading an active revamp of the test lab network architecture (zone-based Layer 3, dual VLANs, DHCP relay for PXE provisioning) and advising the Lead Systems Engineer on broader IT infrastructure improvements.
  • Present test-team findings and weekly fault trends in a cross-functional engineering review (product management, systems engineering, VP), surfacing issues for escalation.
  • Stood up HPC node provisioning with TrinityX, Terraform, and Ansible. Replaced manual node setup with version-controlled infrastructure-as-code and consistent bare-metal imaging across the lab.
  • Wired up Prometheus and Grafana across the cluster and test rigs to catch node-health and hardware failures earlier in the build.
  • Diagnose GPU, interconnect, and storage faults using DCGM, IPMI/BMC, and lspci BDF isolation. Cut average time-to-root-cause by about a third by replacing ad-hoc troubleshooting with a structured workflow.
  • Reworked validation procedures that used to run serially so they run in parallel, cutting average test time around 16%.
  • Built earlier feedback into the build pipeline so unsupported or broken configs get flagged before quote, which stops Sales from quoting two or three builds a month that can't actually ship.
  • Validate full HPC builds (multi-GPU workstations, servers, storage, interconnect) at the component and system level before they ship.
  • Evaluate new GPU platforms for production readiness.

Owner / IT Systems Engineer

Jul 2025 — Current

Aystra Technologies llc

  • Rebuilt a failed Windows Server environment for a dental practice, restoring Eaglesoft and full operations from validated backups within 48 hours
  • Configured and validated backup and recovery processes to support data integrity and rapid system restoration
  • Managed on-premise IT infrastructure for healthcare offices, including Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS/DHCP, and Ubiquiti UniFi network deployments
  • Engineered and maintained Proxmox VE (ZFS) environments, running LXC containers and VMs for both production and lab workloads
  • Deployed full-stack applications and infrastructure (Next.js, Node.js, Nginx, SSL, Cloudflare) with automated system hardening and repeatable provisioning scripts
  • Designed scalable infrastructure and observability pipelines using Terraform, Ansible, K3s/Kubernetes, Docker, Prometheus, Grafana, and a self-hosted data platform (PostgreSQL, JupyterHub, Superset)

QA Engineer

Sep 2022 — Jul 2025

Atlona

  • Developed automated test frameworks using Python and Selenium to validate WebGUI functionality and performance, reducing test cycle time by 17%
  • Performed functional, regression, and UX testing on NPI hardware and WebGUI systems across Agile and Waterfall environments
  • Authored and managed test cases, plans, and defect tracking in JIRA / Zephyr Scale, delivering clear, actionable reporting to project managers and stakeholders
  • Partnered with R&D and development teams to reproduce, document, and resolve software, firmware, and hardware defects
  • Built and maintained real-world A/V test environments (live broadcast, conference room, and home theater setups), including firmware deployment, network configuration, and hardware provisioning
  • Led end-to-end system validation and QA processes for AVoIP, video matrix switchers, and control systems, including calibration, signal verification, and reliability testing
  • Performed hands-on QC, calibration, system imaging, and product burn-in for HDBaseT, AVoIP, and HDMI switching products
  • Implemented firmware updates and performed system imaging and network addressing for field deployment environments
  • Helped establish department QA processes, standards, and procedures in collaboration with product management and software/hardware QA

Technical Support Engineer

Nov 2020 — Sep 2022

Blackmagic Design

  • Supported enterprise clients (FOX, NFL, Universal Studios) with system integration, network diagnostics, and hardware-level troubleshooting.
  • Provided advanced support via CLI, remote access (SSH, Telnet), and firmware-level analysis for broadcast and post-production systems.
  • Diagnosed network and software issues across Windows, macOS, and Linux environments, escalating systemic issues to engineering for patching.
  • Conducted system imaging, hardware repairs, and system validation testing with standard turnaround compliance.
  • Provided advanced technical support to enterprise clients (e.g., major broadcasters and studios) across networking, CLI troubleshooting, and broadcast hardware systems
  • Diagnosed, tested, and repaired professional video equipment in a lab environment, maintaining a 4–8 day turnaround
  • Delivered phone and email support, guiding customers through complex troubleshooting with clear communication and critical thinking
  • Collaborated with system integrators to deploy and configure production studios, including networking, security, and access control
  • Specialized in camera and desktop video hardware, supporting high-impact production environments
